Summer Staff 2015

Alyssa Emrich, Summer Ministry Assistant

For the last two years, Alyssa has served with us as a camp counselor. A crucial part of the camp staff training she received focused on Leading a Child to Christ. Alyssa’s experiences with other children’s ministry programs gave her a special appreciation for the training she received. Here she saw the importance of giving the Gospel and then guiding the child in what it meant to accept Christ as his/her personal Saviour, but not forcing a decision.

As Alyssa prayerfully considered taking on a new role this summer, God brought to her attention Philippians 2:17, “Yes, and if I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all” (Philippians 2:17 NKJV).  Alyssa’s goal this summer is to be “poured out” in service to others as together we reach children with the Gospel.

Alyssa will be serving with us for three months. She appreciates your prayers and support as she needs to raise $5,345 for this home missionary position.

Heather Elliott, Summer Missionary

We are blessed that God has called Heather to serve on the summer missionary team for her fourth year! Heather came to know Jesus as her personal Saviour as a six year old when she heard the Gospel presented with the Wordless Book.

Twelve years later, Heather demonstrates boldness in sharing her faith with people of any age. She describes seeing children play in her neighborhood and feeling an urgency to share Christ with them. “If you don’t share God’s Word with the children,” Heather says, “how will you know if the Gospel will ever be presented to them? You don’t, so you need to take that step and share God’s Word with them.”

Heather’s experiences as a summer missionary, camp counselor, and Good News Club teacher have allowed her to face the joys and challenges of teaching the Gospel to children. She recognizes that although a child may not be ready to receive Jesus as his/her Saviour, God has used her to plant a seed.

Heather will be serving with us for eight weeks. She appreciates your prayers and support as she needs to raise $3,522.87 for this home missionary position.

Lily Eberhart, Summer Missionary Trainee

Lily desires to serve this summer because she has personally experienced the way God can use this ministry to witness to children. While attending another Camp Good News program at age four, Lily heard and responded to the Gospel invitation. Though she was young, Lily remembers making a decision that day to receive Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour. She understands the big picture: “I’m only one of an uncountable number of kids who discovered Christ at a Good News Camp.”

As Lily has grown in her relationship with Christ, she demonstrates an eagerness to be used by God in leading others to Christ. Having served for two years as a camp counselor, Lily loves the camp ministry and is excited to participate in all four weeks of Camp Good News this summer! She is also anticipating the training that she will receive as a summer missionary trainee that will provide her with evangelism tools she can use for a lifetime.

Lily will be serving with us for eight weeks. She appreciates your prayers and support as she needs to raise $2,618.61 for this home missionary position.
